Bex Interiors had the honor of planning and Creative Directing Nashville Design Week 2023’s special closing event, including conceptualizing and collaborating on a towering 3-dimensional floral sculpture centerpiece.

Nashville Design Week 2023 embraced the theme “Design for…”, encouraging participants to explore the vast impacts and potential of design in their communities. The closing party, “Design for Our City,” brought this theme to life, highlighting the creativity and vision shaping Nashville’s future. Our mission was to create an immersive, celebratory experience that tied together design, innovation, and community through interactive and visually stunning installations.

The centerpiece of the event was a striking, giant milk crate structure, carefully envisioned and brought to life. Designed as both a functional and artistic installation, the structure became a focal point for the evening. Local florist Lillian’s Floral Studio elevated the design with vibrant florals, breathing life and organic texture into the industrial framework. This collaborative installation was a key representation of Nashville’s creative spirit, where diverse design elements converged.

At Vū Nashville, a massive LED screen wall created an unforgettable immersive experience. The projections, created by Rex Runyeon, Nashville Design Week’s brand partner, filled the space with dynamic, custom animated graphics that evolved throughout the evening. These graphics captured the essence of the “Design for…” theme, bringing to life the idea of design’s potential to transform and connect communities. The projections offered an ever-evolving visual narrative that enveloped the space, guiding guests through the celebration.

The event featured a variety of interactive installations from local designers, inviting attendees to engage with the city’s creative community. The flow of the space was designed to facilitate connection, with intimate spaces for conversation, an open bar, and ample room for mingling.

With music by DJ Afrosheen, the atmosphere remained energetic and vibrant, blending seamlessly with the design elements and inspiring guests to dance and immerse themselves in the evening’s festivities. The closing party not only celebrated the conclusion of Nashville Design Week but also highlighted the collective power of design to influence and shape the future of our city.
