Fifth and Broadway High Rise

Nashville, TN

Challenge: When she became an empty nester, my client decided to downsize her four-bedroom home for a two-bedroom high rise. She left all of her old furniture behind, and over a period of four months we worked together to source in-stock furniture and accessories to quickly make her new space ready to live in.

Result: My client’s high rise featured industrial architecture with concrete walls and organic textures. Entertaining is important to her, so I designed a grand living room with ample seating. I chose furniture pieces that struck a balance between masculine and feminine, playing up the existing aesthetic of the industrial space. I commissioned artist Abby Coppage to create a custom canvas for the entryway, inspired by my client’s family photos. The floor-to-ceiling windows soak the room in sunlight, with a particularly stunning golden hour glow. I leaned into rust and orange colors to amplify the natural lighting. My client also wanted to source pieces during her travels, and we stayed in communication so I could help her choose accessories that fit the style of her new home. The end result is a warm, elevated space that welcomes my client into her new phase of life.
